Photographer Interrupted

I had two photo shoots set up, one for Tuesday night, the other for last night. Neither came off as planned.

The first fell through because the model in question caught The Cold, so capitalized due to my all too familiarity with it. I gave whatever meager advice I could, and spent the evening with Roni and penguin_goddess, after a long, pleasant day with Nikki (who was NOT there for a photo shoot).

Last Night's shoot got as far as the model's house. I had just lugged the lights inside when she told me she wasn't up for a shoot. She WANTED to have the pics taken, but she had just had her meds adjusted and she was feeling too vulnerable for the shots to be taken. To her credit she had warned me in advance that MIGHT be the case, but as I explained to her, there's a certain mental state one should be in to take photos (at least that's true for me), and I needed to be there on the off chance it might actually happen.

I was more than a little taken aback at how similar to suddenly finding out that there was to be no sex tonight the feeling was. Ironically, there WAS sex to be had... though I couldn't help an undercurrent of disappointment from creeping into my mind.

The capper was coming home this morning to discover that ambar had, for all intents and purposes, broken up with me. In fact, it looks like she had done it months ago, and I was too stupid to take the hint. I thought I was giving her some requested space while she worked through the insanity of school plus full time employment. Apparently, THAT was the hint. Even after our last meeting I walked away with some hope at reconciliation.

I can be SUCH a tool.

The good news is I've actually managed to get several days in a row of sleep, even during the storms last night. I think if it weren't for that, I would actually be depressed about a lot of this right now. As it stands, life doesn't suck THAT badly (though I'm really worried about dcatt, as her insurance company has decided to play games with her short term disability... so much for Met Life paying), and in fact it's turned out pretty nicely on a lot of levels. Had a lovely surprise hot tub with penguin_goddess yesterday, which (even with intensive processing on her part) was a wonderful chance to soak out some kinks.

No, not THOSE kinks.

Anyway, time for a quick shower, change, and head in the general direction of work.

The Eye of the Cliché

Yes, I'm still at work. I'm supposed to be here until 3 AM, prepping the store for the big Tiger rollout tomorrow.

The latest buzz is over some pissant OEM in Florida suing apple over it's use of the word "Tiger". That's right, after 18 months of exposure (some would say OVER exposure) this little company that, quite frankly, *I* had never heard of before now has decided to pull an SCO and ask for a preliminary injunction against Apple over it's use of the word Tiger. The day before it launches. While I do NOT speak for Apple in any way, shape or form, nor am I an attorney, I think that this one's going to be a long shot for the little shit guy.

The best theory put forth so far is that their hoping Apple will cough up some cash to settle. Wasn't it Exxon that did that old "Put a Tiger in your tank" thing? They might want to think twice about winning this one.

Better yet, let's call Journey's lawyers, and see if THEY could sue TigerDirect into oblivion.

You know, I can't believe I let the whole passing of the pope/election of new pope pass without a single comment. Shows you how removed I've become from my Irish Catholic roots. Old pope? Stood up to communism, wanted to pretend Vatican II never happened, was a revisionist and anal cranial inverted twit. His replacement? More of the same, only not as lovable. My theory: He's there to satisfy the old school conservatives of the church while being so unlikable by the world at large that any changes made by HIS sucessor (in two years, if he's to be believed about this whole retirement by 80 thing) won't seem like a slap in the face of John Paul II.

Now, back to work with me!
