Begging Pardon

MoveOn.org is holding a petition to stop the blatant attempt by the Shrub to retroactively legalize his "inherent authority" to wiretap American's without a warrant, even though he never had to -- FISA is a law that gave him that power as long as he ran it by a court after the fact. His reluctance to do just that is as clear a sign he's up to no good as anything. It's also a desperate act -- even if the Democrats only take a single house (very likely) or both (less likely, but within the realms of possibility) this election cycle it would almost certainly mean that Bush's goose would be cooked as of this January.

Presidential ass-kisser's will try and frame this as a critical part of the "War on Terror" -- which is pure, unadulterated bullshit. This is a power grab that would make the presidency so powerful as to render this country a dictatorship.

Here's the MoveOn text:
This week, the Senate is planning to quietly hold a vote that would pardon President Bush for breaking the law by illegally wiretapping innocent Americans.

The bill would let the administration off the hook for breaking the law and make it legal to wiretap Americans, in secret, without any oversight whenever they want to.

Democrats and some Republicans are holding strong against it, and if enough of us speak up we can stop it. Can you sign the petition opposing the Republican move to pardon President Bush for breaking the law?

Feel free to grab this and re-post, e-mail, and otherwise disseminate this as far and wide as possible. Let's make sure this asshole gets nailed to the wall for his crap.
