Adapting To Things...

Well, Valerie got in to Oakland Friday night. From the time she left for the airport to the time she got her luggage: 5 hours, 20 minutes. Since she was flying in from San Diego, which is only about 2 to 3 hours longer in driving, the whole point of flying seems to wander into that bogus homeland security wasteland where not a single inconvenience would have prevented (or will prevent) terrorist attacks.

George Carlin's right: It's all about the government letting us know they can fuck with us any time they want to. But I digress.

Anyway, so we all went to see "Adaptation" tonight. I was seriously impressed with it, though Roni was completely unimpressed with it (it is a seriously twisted, complex tale that can easily lose the unwary). If you liked "Being John Mahlkovich", you'll probably get into this sequel that isn't a sequel.

Oh, and last night, we all caught "Chicago"... Also excellent. Gene, Roni's roomie, came with, and we had WAY too much fun eating at Mel's before the show. One of the highlights: Discussing how it must have sounded when Yoda did a screen test for the part of "Smeagol" in Lord of the Rings. ("Precious, you have. To me give it back you must!")

So, I did this entry so I could do the next one....
